just what i'd been waiting for today....

I cannot tell you how happy I am to see Paul Ferney's Let Them Eat Cakes series as prints!
Yay!
I was feeling a bit off today and couldn't make up my mind as to whether I was just feeling numb or feeling anxious...but having stumbled onto the newly created prints has really made me feel better--all of a sudden!
So go check them out and buy some prints!
PS:  I'd been wracking my brain trying to decide which art prints to hang in the baby's room and voila!...I have my answer now!  (In case you were wondering, it was between several Rothko & Shinzi Katoh prints...)
Thank goodness for cakes!

On second thought...

When I first saw these little items at Anthroplogie, I have to admit, I thought they were kind of silly...I mean especially the snow balls...what on earth could you do with those? Well, my mistake. Now I'm in love with them. The little trees are so simple and old fashioned. Great for easy, not over-the-top, Christmas decorating ... and those snow balls!! Completely adorable!

It's so easy to overlook something that isn't flashing or singing at you this time of year :)

Next year...just wait

I have a beautiful and brilliant lavendar bush in my backyard. It grew like it as if 'growing' was an olympic sport this summer and while I adored looking at it, I had no idea what to with lavendar. It must be one hearty plant because it seriously ... even after our snow ... still has a bunch of purple buds. Anyway, I just saw this gift idea on Cup of Jo from St. Helena Olive CoGenius.

Hello Kitty Tour Bus

I've been following the Sanrio 50th anniversary  Pop UP Tour bus for the past few weeks and I'm so bummed I won't get to be in NY for the last stop!  Darn!  All the stops look so amazing!

whatever it takes....

Any Hello Kitty fans out there?....The McDonald's Happy Meal toy is... you guessed it....Hello Kitty character watches!
Good lord, I'm going to have to just buy a few Happy Meals to get these watches...I'm telling you, if my dad were around he'd be the first one to buy 10 HM boxes at once...just so he could give me all the watches!  He was cool like that.  {sigh}

feeling giddy...

....cause this pug is so darn cute!
Gemma Correll is a genius!

style maven

Iris Apfel is practically a style legend.  I really need to start my own legacy...What do you think....big bold eyeglasses?

And it keeps on falling

Cute little video that showed up on the Rush Rhees Library Facebook page celebrating our Dec. 1 first snow :)

mystery solved!

Mr. Popper’s Penguins

Did I tell you I saw "snow" last week while we were in NYC?  No, not the real kind, silly...!  The fake-hollywood-snow kind!
I finally figured out which movie had just finished filming...Jim Carrey's Mr. Popper's Penguins.  Unfortunately the fact that it was Jim Carrey makes it kinda dull, but hey....at least I saw melting snow on the ground!
It was the strangest thing....we got off the subway and walked up right near the Flatiron Building on 25th and there it was....Snow!  It totally didn't phase me until B. mentioned he saw snow around the vicinity.  Then it dawned on me....!  Yes, it was snow....but of course we had no idea where it came from...
Anyway, mystery solved...and I had luck with the help of On Location Vacations...a cool site if you want to know which stars are filming where....

Must be that first snow thing...

...because I am really loving this print by Blanca Gomez :)

Vogue says it's 'The Return of Mr. Ford'...hallelujah!

The December '10 issue of Vogue is pretty awesome (in spite of stupid Angelina Jolie on the cover...as always, the last issue of the year is jam packed with goodness) including a fabulous spread and retrospective on the love of my life, Tom Ford. Pick it up for these dazzling pics alone. Major fashion crush.

First snow...

The view from my office window...the first snow of the season is here :)

paying homage

Who watched Twin Peaks in the early 90s?  I was a huge fan and now I've just learned that Psych, a popular USA show that I also am a big fan of, will do an homage-episode to the great show.  The episode is called "Dual Spires" and will be on tonight on USA at 10pm Eastern.
Yay!

PS:  Forgot to mention.....many of the stars from Twin Peaks will also guest on tonight's episode of Psych!
Double yay!

Design*sponge - Living in

If you didn't catch the brilliant 'Living in' post from Design*sponge for Sofia Coppola's Marie Antoinette, definitely check it out. Beautiful, beautiful, beautiful!

Happy Hanukkah!

Happy Hanukkah to all those who celebrate this holiday!  We have a tradition of getting Spinach/Feta latkes, along w. the more traditional potato variety, at Whole Foods and then pigging out with some other yummy finds.....and my menorah is all set for lighting!
Take a look at my new friend, Baxter (isn't this the best name?)....The story is more about shabbat dinners, but I couldn't resist this cover art!  This pig is so stylin.......
