I know you are a big big fan of Rifle Paper Co. KJ so this post is for you. How completely gorgeous is this Valentines day card? And there are others that are equally breathtaking.

my fabulous post-christmast package!
Katie! I received my package yesterday afternoon and the timing couldn't have been more perfect! Our home study update had been postponed until last night and opening up this package before our social worker arrived was just pure joy!..and it made me less nervous about the meeting.
The contents were awesome (no surprise, of course)! Some of my favorite goodies were Kris's book/ and gorgeous print and two fantabulous Strawberryluna prints ( and my ultimate favorite..the one I'd been eying this for ages and ages has been he likes to read books written for girls).... Seeing this particular print (along w. Kris' print) kinda sealed the deal for me in terms of how to decorate the baby's room... I'd been going back and forth on some predominant colors and now I have my ideas all in line! Super yay!
It'll definitely incorporate my love of books (which is where the Strawberryluna print comes in!)
Anyway, sorry for being M.I.A.--yet again....but I think I'm pretty settled in the baby front and I can devote more time to our lovely blog!
Hope everyone has a great Wednesday!

here is....my night stand
...Well, here is my night stand.... Again, it's a bit cluttered...but that's just me...I can't seem to make it very organized...but I know where everything is.
I have a small watch fetish so my most favorite ones are right there in the middle....I have various boxes I love....for their shape, color, texture....I love boxes! I have a Blackapple doll I made (my very first one!) and the little birdie companion....Other pieces of jewelry I tend to wear a lot....I have some stickers in the back that I bought....It's of the cutest Japanese salary man and his daily rituals....There are stickers of him taking the bus, riding his bike, working in the office...So so cute..My beloved snowglobes are in the far back (probably not in view from the pics) and some ads I really like (like the small, delicate Chanel insert I found in a magazine)...and of course my most beloved pics of my son, Jack. I look at his face each and every night before I turn out my lights....The best!
Hope you enjoy gazing....
here is...my dresser
It's a little cluttered....but that's kind of my style. I hesitate to call it messy because I know exactly what's on top of my dresser....I called it organized clutter. :)
I have a few photos from our honeymoon in Greece, a very old photo of B. & I when we were dating (so very long ago), my favorite Hermes boxes from Liberty, a sentimental champagne bottle, Tiffany boxes and small bag, box of Nurofen (generic advil from Boots...B. & I went to Boots every.single.day while in London! One of my ultimate favorite Brit. stores), Liberty fabric tape from our last vacation to London, my favorite Acqua di Parma box, EmersonMade box & flower, my Leica charger on top of my OhLaLa gold Chanel nail polish box(!), my Liberty for MAC lipstick case box (love the print!), my very favorite souvenir from our Tokyo trip...my beloved Hannari Tofu (only the Japanese could make tofu look so cute), various Kate Spade boxes, collections of miniature vases (way back of dresser!), and last but not least..my wired Eiffel Tower....
So much stuff....but all beloved!
The genius of Gemma ... con't
One of the things I like about Ooh La La Du Jour is that it reminds me that the slightest things can really make your day. For me, it usually isn't more that a new $5 bottle of body wash that picks up my spirits...and sometimes, the things that we remember most about a day don't cost a single thing. One of my absolute favorite pick-me-ups and reminders of the idea, that life is about the little things (without sounding too cliche) is Gemma Correll's Daily Diaries. We know the woman is a genius with illustration...but she is also completely brilliant (through her drawings and words) at making everything she does seem fascinating. Even a diary entry featuring her riding the couch due to a nasty cold, is totally priceless. Often times, when I'm enjoying a pleasant, if uneventful day, I think about how Gemma might portray it in one of her diary entries...and it makes me smile...because it reminds me how every single day can be joyous...no matter how 'uneventful' you might think it is.
Gemma, Gemma, Gemma...
Gemma Correll, you absolutely make my day...and this card will be loved by all my special Valentines this year :)
Wishing I worked here - LCM
Just look at what the lucky patrons of the Lancashire Library system (UK, I think?) will be carrying their treasured books home in! Spotted on the Dieline, these bags are made of 100% recycled material and are absolutely gorgeous.
You know what days I love???
Why, the days they introduce new items at Kate Spade. Here's a few newbies I'm already coveting...especially that little bag...aka the 'Cobble Hill Katie' :)

Aaaah...refreshing!
This post is inspired by a great post on Coco & Kelley that I saw this morning and the fabulous new product I, coincidentally, bought just this weekend. First things first...I love love love pink grapefruit. I love to drink it, I love the scent, I love the way the fruit looks. When I was poking around the Wegmans beauty aisle this weekend, looking for a new body wash, I almost fell over when I saw that Neutrogena (always reliable, always wonderful) has a new body wash with pink grapefruit. Can I tell you...I'm addicted. I didn't think anything could ever replace my super fave Rain Bath body wash...but this, well, I have a feeling there will always be a bottle of this variety in my shower as long as they are making it. It seriously made my weekend :)
And while we are on subject, check out this lovely post on Coco & Kelly with a delicious recipe for grapefruit mimosas. Mmmmmm.
Be kind to bloggers :)
The brand, spakin' new tenure of Brandon Holley as EIC of Lucky magazine has gotten off to a fine start as far as I'm concerned. Not only is the latest issue chock full of great finds, there is also this bit on fashionista this morning on Holley's take on how bloggers are the new 'go to' for all that's fashionable. Brilliant!

Laugh of the day...
...comes from some wise-guy in the chemistry department at the U of Rochester (it's also the 'Picture of the Week' on campus). Totally nerd-adorable.
Embrace winter
Great article in the WSJ on the always wonderful Cynthia Rowley and her philosophy for dressing for the dead of winter. Love everything about this woman!
Hi Friday!
How are you all dealing with our first Friday of work in a couple of weeks? Well, I've definitely felt this full work week and I'm quite happy it's almost come to an end. Speaking of coming to an end, Lisa Congdon's amazing 'Collection a Day' blog wrapped up last week. I miss it already. So much respect and admiration for her...for seeing it through...with each entry being more brilliant than the last. I was going through all 365 entries, trying to decide on my fave and I think I have it...this one above for day 350. Gorgeous and festive...no?
Anyway, I hope you all have a super lovely weekend ... XOXO
Ignore the weirdly posed model...dig the look
I was poking through some of the new looks on Madewell (which are, in general, pretty awesome) when I found this pic, fell in love with the look and knew I had to post it. So here is the isolated shot, pulled out of their brilliant 'Looks we love' section. This poor model looks a bit odd...but how much do you love this outfit. Gorgeous!
