For everyone who has this Columbus Day off, I hope you have a lovely time. I am working today (academic libraries never seem to close) but if I had the day off, I am pretty sure I would start the morning off with a walk over to our neighborhood cafe for a hot apple cider. Cafe Vas opened a year or so ago and it is so nice to have it just a hop-skip-and-a-jump from the house. After my cider, I think I might take in a matinee or check out the offerings of the ImageOut film festival that is in town this week. I went to a documentary yesterday morning that was made by my friend Chris' college buddy, Dave Marshall. It was called 'Swimming with Lesbians' and it was just terrific. It is making the festival circuit now, so if you get a chance, check it out.Oh well...back to work...sigh.

ReplyDeleteI can't believe this Cafe Vas, it looks so wonderful. You are so lucky to live in Rochester and have such awesome places to go for coffee. I can't believe that "Kater Bean" this dump of a coffee shop just down the street from us still exists, its so crappy. I wish something cool would open.

ReplyDeleteThe next time you are here we will go to Cafe Vas. I really want it to stay in business because it is so nice. Seriously, it is a 2 min walk from the house and they have very yummy coffee, smoothies, deserts and sandwiches. Chris and I go on Sat.
ReplyDeleteThe movie was really well done. I am very proud of Dave because a lot of these documentaries can be pretty bad but this one was something else.
The print is so pretty ... and if you look in the distance, you can see a little deer.
