The art of fashion
You simply must check out the October '09 issue of Vogue! There is a spread featuring fabulous Karli Kloss and French tennis star Gael Monfils, shot in Paris which is nothing short of spectacular! From the photography, to the wardrobe, to the setting, it is an amazing treat.
i think this is the best spread this month... i liked the michelle williams interview but i'd already read most of it elsewhere so it wasn't a biggie.... i think anna wintour needs to retire...
ReplyDeleteTotally agree. American Vogue is so in need of some fresh blood. I'd say its every 4th issue that I really get excited over a spread. That is why I enjoyed this one. Although it is by no means perfect...I don't get why Monfils is in the spread. True, he's French...but they don't even put him in cool clothes. He's just wearing tennis whites. Karli Kloss on the other hand is amazing.
ReplyDeletei totally agree--seriously, i think i only like one spread in each issue. can't they see it themselves? i think everyone is terrified of anna and can't say otherwise. quite a shame. she should let us have guest editorship!
ReplyDeleteWell, I think we would be wonderful guest editors. First thing I would do is get back to putting models on the covers. Celebrities are no where near as edgy. They can't pull off amazing clothes. They are safe choices and that is never what being fashion forward is about. I actually like Michelle Williams too but her cover is pretty weak. Celebrities like her are interesting to read about but they aren't visually stunning.
ReplyDeleteI completely agree, the covers of Vogue are so uninspiring and boring. They keep having the same lame actresses on the cover and they usually all have the same look.
ReplyDeleteI absolutely love the photo of Karli Kloss with Monfils. She looks amazing! She looks like she could be in a painting by Degas or any of the impressionists.
Check out the spread Laura because it really is so pretty. I think Karli Kloss is such an interesting new model who was made for high coture fashion...but then you'll see Michelle Obama on the cover. Huh?
