Who is JP?

My amazingly wonderful business coach, Renita, is constantly reminding me that I don't do enough self-promotion so here goes: In addition to writing about design and fashion for this wonderfully fabulous blog, I also teach photography. I offer group classes here in NYC and I also sell photography instructional videos online. If any ooh la la readers are photography enthusiasts, you should definitely check out my website with all my group and online photography classes, like my Facebook page, and follow my Twitter feed.

I'll tell you the one thing I love about my work: That moment when someone realizes their camera can do something they never realized it could. The look in their eyes is like I just changed their whole world. I'm so very lucky to have the opportunity to teach people to create beautiful images every day.

  1. So incredibly proud of you JP! I knew from the minute we met (was it in that screenwriting class or in the 'production office' (aka back of Nakis Auto) that I would be riding your coattails one day :) I just think it's so interesting how your found your way to photography. It's such a likely field for you to land considering how gifted an eye I have always thought you had.

Now speaking of self-promotion, I am particularly interested in letting you know JP that Chris has been busily working on scanning his massive backlog of negative (not to mention some new stuff he did over the summer) and we are in the process of setting up a blog dedicated to his work. I have seen many of the negs. and I am knocked out! Can't wait to see what you think!

  2. I'll never forget when Chris took to a photography exhibit in Rochester and taught me my first composition lesson. I think that was the first time I got it in my head I might really enjoy being a photographer so you could say that it all started with him. I can't wait to see the stuff you're scanning!!

    1. I've probably seen about 20 photos from the back log and they are brilliant. I cannot wait to get them up to see what you (and others think). I think it's amazing that you still can recall that exhibit you guys went to....and now after all these years, you guys are working in the same field. Fantastic!
