Christmas is the time to say 'I love you'

OK OK...its only October...too early to be thinking about Christmas, right? Well, not for me. I always start pining for it around this time of year and this rare video ALWAYS gets me in the mood. Who remembers it? 1981...the early days when MTV didn't stink, Billy Squier, the old MTV V-jays jamming in the background (can you say 'Marth Quinn'?), the tacky Christmas sweaters. Well, I guarantee, once you listen to this rollicking Christmas song, you'll be ready to put up the tree too.

*Get ready my darlings...this is going to be a day of pre-Xmas posts :)

  2. Oh man...I really miss the 80's and especially the MTV of the 80's. Remember when it was relevant? I can't imagine what kids today would think of our MTV...it was the best!

  4. 'Now look at them yo-yo's,
that's the way you do it
You play the guitar on the MTV
That ain't workin' that's the way you do it
Money for nothin' and chicks for free'

The genius of Dire Straits and MTV circa 1985.

  7. This video is so awesome!! What a great song, I have always loved Billy Squire, have you seen him lately he looks great! They look like they are having so much fun, did you see how cute Martha Quinn was? What happened to MTv it sucks now, seriously. Although did you watch this years Mtv awards? They were Awesome!! Some really great performances. :)

  8. This video just makes me want to have an Xmas party and put this song on a loop so that it is playing the background over and over while the guest sing and dance and drink egg nog! It has been one of my favorite Xmas songs for years!

I saw Billy Squier on one of those VH1 countdown shows and he does look great. He must have taken good care of himself (unlike a lot of those 80's rockers).

Martha Quinn is the cutest little thing ever...oh MTV...what happened?
