Let's make it a date!

Let's celebrate Julia Child's birthday on Saturday, August 15th. Bon Appetit has a great menu all lined up for the occasion. I'm inspired to go through her masterpiece, Mastering the Art of French Cooking, and make something really special. I also think it's not a fete unless champagne is involved...so champagne for all! Vive la Julia!

  1. First of all, this pic is incredible! I want a piece of this cake...NOW. What a great idea to cook one of her recipes, in her honor. I will chill the champagne!

  5. OK...I'll begin searching too. I have a delicious Spanish 'sparkling wine' at home...do you think Julia would mind if I went with that rather than the traditional french ;)

  6. This picture is my dream come true!! So beautiful and yummy! My all time favorite desert is a yellow cake or cupcake with a light pink frosting. Right now I am making angel food cupcakes and this awesome frosting I found from Pillsbury called Easy Frost. It comes in a whip cream style bottle. So yummy!!!
