Even though it's been a 3 day work week (after the oft-mentioned beach vacation), I'm still pretty excited the weekend is almost here! Speaking of my week off, while 'beaching' one day (yes, it can be a verb :), I was perusing the June 2010 issue of Lucky magazine. I have to say, it was a pretty great issue (Laura had left it behind from her recent trip to the Keys) filled with all sorts of great tips (some that I am sure will end up in this blog). The article I most loved was titled 'What is your weekend uniform?' The whole concept of 'uniforms' in our personal style absolutely fascinates me. I love that we can have a look, for certain occasion (this one being the weekend) that are our go-to outfits. I am always and forever, searching for mine. Of course we need different looks for different seasons, and this particular article was all about the summer weekend. I particularly loved Lucky accessories editor Julia Kalachnikoff's look which consisted of a summery, sleeveless dress, Derek Lam sunglasses, Birkenstocks and the ubiquitous LL Bean Boat and Tote. So smashing!!Anyway, I hope you all have a lovely weekend...and make sure it is summery and super stylin!
This post is so great because on my walk in the park with Zeus I was thinking how I couldn't wait to get home, take a shower and put on my pink sun dress. I was thinking that I would have a sun dress policy while working in the soulrun sweatshop for the rest of the summer. What do you think?

Thanks Kate! I think sporty for the weekend is the best way to go and now there are so msny different sporty looks you can sport. What with Lole and various new sport skirts and dresses, its pretty awesome!!

Ha! So cute Laura!. Well, I have to tell you, I don't have too much planned but my favorite weekend outfit when it's super hot (as it has been these days) has been my some JCrew khaki shorts (that I got a million years ago) and the absolutely awesome seahorse shirt you got for me from Target for my birthday...and my Keen sandals of course. If I have to dress up even a little I wear that Lole skirt (like the one you have) and pink Lole top with Keen MaryJanes.
