The scent of a ... book - LCM
You simply must read this little blurb about artist Rachael Morrison from NY Mag. Working in the MoMA library, she became increasingly aware of the the era of digitized books and realized that one appealing, if oft-forgotten aspect of a tactile collection of books is, the smell. That said, she set out to smell each and every volume of their 300,000 book collection, documenting the experience with descriptions like this;
"a combination of grassy notes with a tang of acids and a hint of vanilla over an underlying mustiness".
Bravo Rachael...a hero to bibilophiles everywhere!
