What's at the Dryden?
If you chose to live in Rochester, NY, there are a few things you accept. You live with 6 months of awful weather. You understand that the biggest attraction in town is the supermarket chain, Wegmans (and it is fabulous...post to come) and when you are in the mood for a night out but don't know what to do, you inevitably ask. "What's playing at the Dryden?". The Dryden Theater, housed in the George Eastman House, screens a different film every evening, 6 days a week. The seemingly endless supply of films comes from the massive archival collection of the GEH. Since I've lived here, I've been able to see films on the large screen (and the way they were intended to be seen) that I otherwise never would have had the chance. I've had so many favorite 'Dryden' evenings but one of the best...'Lawrence of Arabia'...in all its glory...no DVD could ever do it justice.
