how Jcrew.com works behind the scenes? I received a J.Crew package last night (yay!) and one of the items I ordered included the "Dream Shawl Cardigan". I absolutely love it! I was hoping to take advantage of the 30% off final sale going on for a few days and have now noticed that the sweater is gone. But the big question is: Is it REALLY gone? I've checked the site enough times to know that things miraculously come back in stock at any given time... Anyway, I'm just curious....
Don't you love it when you find something that actually works for you??? I always want to own 3 pairs of everything I truly love.
I mean seriously...what is with the whole concept of 'Out of Stock' at JCrew? Are they just toying with people? If it is 'out of stock' today but available tomorrow, how does that constitute 'out of stock' to begin with (now its starting to sound like the 'tree falling in the woods' thoery :)
ReplyDeleteI have a confession...I got so super sick of playing the game that I have basically stopped ordering from JCrew on line. I haven't in almost 2 years. Of course now you have peaked my interest with the cardigan, because 'out of stock' or not...their stuff is gorgeous.

ReplyDeleteWell, I'm not that good. It's been a combination of the events of the past couple years, a New Years resolution which included spending less and my frustration with JCrew. But you always manage to slay me with the JCrew posts and do end up running out to the store.
ReplyDeleteyou know, i know exactly what you mean about "events"... i have a foggy memory from 2005-2008...i'd get the catalogs, love the stuff they had (esp the Paris issue), but my mind wasn't there so i never really got that excited about anything really.....but now that i'm feeling somewhat more "awake"...i'm so kicking myself for not having noticed some great jcrew moments....
ReplyDeletei remember you saying that laura had bought you the library cardigan. that's something i saw and totally appreciated but was so mired in "stuff" that i just couldn't even get it. now i'm kicking myself for not having bought it.
i'm more aware of the catalogs now and save ones that i really love---because jcrew catalogs have become an art form in itself.
Oh wow...the library cardigan. How I managed to even be cognizant of that collection is beyond me, considering that was the height of the nightmare but how I loved the collection. Yes, Laura got me this amazing cardigan, bordered in books! I also got the matching umbrella. I am like you though..I have missed so much, which I guess means there is some catching up to do.
